Students in Mrs. Jonanne Pike’s kindergarten class explored story elements while reading The Little Red Hen. Throughout the week, students focused on identifying characters, setting, and the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
To wrap up their learning, students brought the story to life by baking a cake together as a class. This hands-on activity allowed them to practice teamwork, follow steps in sequence, and understand the value of hard work—just like the Little Red Hen.
Students had a wonderful time helping, learning, and enjoying a sweet reward at the end. It was a perfect way to connect reading with a meaningful, real-world experience! 🧡👏
